Hi awesome nerds! I am super excited to share my signup post for the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge with you today!

IMPORTANT

For all of the details and information, please pop over to the sign-up post on The Quiet Pond! This includes challenge prompts, badge levels, monthly chats, and MORE! ❤

This challenge is being hosted by four amazing bloggers:

From the sign-up post:

The aim of this challenge is to read as many books written by Asian authors as you can! These books can be backlist titles (i.e. released in 2018 or earlier), new releases, and ARCs. We welcome books of any genre, any format, and any length. Check out the levels we have made for this challenge and set your sights on a level you want to achieve.

In order for a book to count, you must start and finish it within 2019; the challenge will end on the 31st of December of this year. (This means that books started in 2018 and finished in 2019 do not count!) Likewise, any books started in 2019 and finished in 2020 do not count either.

Follow us on Twitter (@YearOfTheAsian) for announcements, surprises, and more bookish fun. The official hashtag for this reading challenge is #YARC2019.

So I am going to go for the badge level Malayan Tapir which is 21-30 books, and I have set up a reading challenge using a plugin I have to keep track.

Look at this cutie Tapir badge drawn by CW from The Quiet Pond!

And what am I going to read? Good question! Here is a gallery of the books I have either committed to reading already, or I own.

That, right there? That is 45 books I own or have ARCs of that are by Asian authors! That is almost enough for the top level badge, which is an awesome Bengali tiger. But in the way of a book blogger, I may not get to all of these books this year. Because TBRs are fickle things, and ARCs are always coming in.

(Please forgive me for not putting links to everything, but there are 45 books there!)

Would you like to buddy read one (or more) of these with me? Let me know! Are you signing up for #YARC2019? Link me to your post!

Stay bookish, lovelies! ❤

  1. oh man, I love a good cover collage 😍📚 I’ve read and loved some of these, and have some more on my own TBR including The Star-Touched Queen, The Astonishing Color of After, Ignite the Stars, and The Reader – and I’d absolutely love to buddy read any of them! 😉

  2. Love your TBR! I have a few of these on my TBR as well, like Shadow of the Fox and Forest of a Thousand Lanterns. I may end up signing up for this challenge as well, just because I’ve seen it everywhere and I really want to find more diverse authors to read. Happy reading, I hope all of these are 5 star hits for you!
