Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the amazing Jana over at The Artsy Reader Girl. She totally rocks, so please drop by and say hi to her!
Today’s topic is Top Ten Characters That Remind Me of Me and it was fun (and hard) to try and think of characters that really resonated with me. I didn’t want to limit myself, so I also included characters that no longer reflect who I am.
As always, in no particular order!

Bella Swan from the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer
No, I have never loved a sparkly vampire. But in New Moon after (spoiler alert!) Edward leaves Bella for a minute, she gets super depressed. The chapters go on for a few months, and they are just chapter headers, because Bella is just… not there, she is hurting so much. This was very relatable to me, especially as a teen.
Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Until Luna was introduced, I would have said I was 100% Hermione. But I am definitely more Luna than Hermione, especially as a teen. I was bullied and strange. Sometimes I cared what people thought, but mostly I just did my own thing. And in the end, while I didn’t have any super close friends, I did have a group I could rely on for the most part. And I am a Ravenclaw.
Murderbot from The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
OK, I know what you are thinking. You want to back away slowly. But if you have read any of the novellas, you will know what I mean. Murderbot is, yes, an AI, and I am not (to my knowledge anyways). But they are also Very Awkward around people. Like, when people pay attention to them, they want to just turn into a corner and not have to deal with it. And that is pretty much me in a nutshell.
Delia Peabody from the In Death series by J.D. Robb
I am nowhere near as badass as Dallas. I am more of the comedic-relief-sidekick. Like Peabody, I adore food, but can sometimes get fixated on my weight. I am goofy, dependable, and a fierce friend.
Eleanor from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
When I first read this book (not long after it was first released), I was convinced I was Eleanor. Except for the red hair, I was HER. I was fat and weird, and Mr Blue (who was just my boyfriend at the time) is Filipino, so the interracial relationship was even on point. I am not proud of it, but for years I ignored the claims of racism, since it had resonated so much with me. I recently saw a blurb from it and it was SO MUCH WORSE than I remember it being. While I still think some things are similar, I definitely don’t identify with it as much as I once used to, and I recognize how problematic the book is.
Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
While I am an air sign (Gemini), I am also a spunky fire demon who will wish burned bacon upon you if you cross me (I think that line is only in the movie). But who also has a heart of gold, and will do the right thing, regardless of how much I groan about it.

Six seems to be the magic number today. I haven’t seen too many people get to the full 10. Did you? Do we share any characters? Did I miss a character that you think I should have included? Comment below, and don’t forget to link me up to your TTT!
Stay bookish, lovelies! ❤
OOooh! You chose Delia. I almost picked Eve! lol

I need an Eve! As I said, I am nowhere near badass enough to be Eve, but I definitely see myself in Peabody a lot! Thanks for stopping by! <3
I love your blog. Always creative and entertaining. I have never heard of the Murderbot Series, nor Howl’s. Reading your blog and comments, they are now on my evergrowing TBR list. Thank you for that!
I am always happy to contribute to other people’s TBR piles. Mine can’t be the only one that is so tall it is threatening to topple and bury me alive!
Thanks for stopping by the blog, and for the lovely compliment! <3
Luna was on my list this week, too! How cool.
My TTT.
Ah, I love Calcipher – he’s a great choice! Luna’s such a wonderful character, she’s one of the many reasons the fifth HP book is my favourite in the series. Great list!
Luna is probably my favourite HP character. I aspire to her level of confidence.
And Calcifer (Calcipher?) is just SUCH a good character – honestly all of the characters in the Howl series are… I am so sad that Diana Wynne Jones isn’t around any longer to write more books…
