Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the amazing Jana over at The Artsy Reader Girl. She totally rocks, so please drop by and say hi to her!

Sorry for the lack of graphic on today’s post. I have yet to make a new one, and I don’t even have access to my old one right now. Whoops?

This week’s topic is Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2018 and I love this topic, because I definitely read some amazing new talent in 2018 that I want to share.

As always in no particular order.

authors I tried again in 2018

Sometimes the first time you read an author, something doesn’t click. And I don’t know about you, but I am reluctant to write authors off after one bad reading experience. (When authors behave badly, that is a different story, but these authors are all amazing people to my knowledge.) So here are a few that I tried again – and loved the second time around – in 2018.

Rin Chupeco
What I read:
The Bone Witch
The first time I read Rin Chupeco I didn’t click with her YA horror The Girl From the Well. But I found The Bone Witch to be much more suited to my reading tastes, and will definitely pick up future fantasy she puts out!

Tahereh Mafi
What I read:
A Very Large Expanse of Sea
I read Shatter Me eons ago when I was still on Tumblr, and once again it just didn’t seem to click for me. I didn’t love it, and I never continued with the series. But I decided to check out A Very Large Expanse of Sea, and I am so pleased I did.

OK so that is only seven, but I blame not having my list of what I read in 2018 with me… so I had to wing it a bit.

Who did you read for the first time in 2018? Have you read any of the authors on my list? Don’t forget to link me up to your TTT!

Stay bookish, lovelies!
