Subscribing via e-mail for future posts
We collect your email address when you subscribe to receive blog posts from us via email subscription. You can subscribe by filling out the form on the sidebar on the right. Upon submission, you will receive an email to confirm your subscription.
We will only send you emails which you have signed up to receive, or which pertain to the services we provide to you. You can unsubscribe from us at any time at the bottom of our emails or by contacting us.
Currently, subscriptions are handled through JetPack.
Commenting/replying on our site
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection and prevention.
We use Akismet to detect spam, which is a service that collects information from the commenter, such as IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL. Other information may include those directly provided by the commenter, such as name, username, email address and the comment itself.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Participating in giveaways
We occasionally host giveaways on our site, which collects your name and email address throughout the duration of the giveaway. Giveaways are generally hosted through Rafflecopter via a third-party, such as blog tour companies, authors and publishers.
Blog tour companies we host tours with include (but not limited to): Rockstar Book Tours, Chapter by Chapter, and Xpresso Book Tours. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for their practices.
Should a giveaway be hosted by a contributing writer on our site, your information will be collected and stored for the duration of the giveaway. You will be contacted only if you are selected as the winner and your information will be stored until you have received your prize or three months after sending the email, whichever comes first.
Contacting us via email
We do not use a contact form on this website, however, we do collect your name and email address when contacting us. Your information is kept as long as we are communicating through email.
If you are an author, publisher or someone who works with authors/publishers, we collect other essential details other than name and email address when contacting us. We will keep this information for six months past our last e-mail communication.
