Earlier this week, I talked about Adult Encroachment in YA and some things that teens and adults can do to make the community more inclusive.
I decided I needed to put my money where my mouth is. I put out a call on Twitter for any teenage book lovers or bloggers looking to build or boost their platform. I have a fairly significant following, and I wanted to use it to help one or two teenagers get their voices out there. Enter Riya.
Riya is a lovely fifteen year old from India who answered my call. I have set her up with her own account on here, and she is welcome to post whatever she wants (about books, of course – this IS still a book blog). She can review the books she wants, she can talk about issues facing young girls such as herself and how books handle them, and she can be sure her voice will be heard. Her opinions are her own, and I am here to simply provide a platform for her to speak.
Her first post is sitting here, waiting for her to make a final edit on it before I push it live, and I am so excited for you all to meet her.
So please join me in welcoming Riya to Bluestocking Bookworm! ♥
