eBook Haul: June 2014

It is no secret that I am completely baffled by eBook pricing. I don’t understand why an eBook is often priced the same or more than its physical counterpart. When I can get a hardcover book for less than an eBook, I think there is a problem. However, when eBook sales happen, I am a happy bookworm! Nothing above was more than $4.99, which if you ask me… is where eBook pricing should be. (I recognize everyone involved needs to get paid, but there is no escaping that an eBook has no actual mass, so the cost of printing, binding etc. are not factors. I also would really love some sort of system that allows discounts on eBooks if you own the physical book.)

I am very excited to get a few newer books in this haul, as well as some anthologies.

What was the last book you bought? What is your opinion on eBook pricing?

Talk bookish to me!

  1. The last books I bought were “River Secrets” by Shannon Hale, and “The Eye of the World” by Robert Jordan.
I completely agree about pricing! I don’t think we should pay more than $5-$6 for an ebook. As for discounts on ebooks when you already own the print copy, Amazon has a service for that called Matchbook. However, you have to buy the print book from Amazon to get the discount on the ebook. :/

    Anyway, here is the link!
