Challenge Your Shelf: June 2

Prompt: Favourite Trilogy

This was super easy for me. My hands-down favourite trilogy is the Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant.

Zombies, bloggers, bad-ass female characters, government conspiracies, nerdery to the extreme… this series has it all, and I continuously re-read it to visit the characters and the intense story over and over again. This is my brand new copy that my husband bought me at Christmas. Until I got these, I was reading library copies.

So what is your favourite trilogy, and why?

Stay bookish!

Talk bookish to me!

  1. Trilogies are so rarely trilogies anymore. There’s always a 4th book or 6 or 7 and on and on and on. Even the Divergent “trilogy” has Four stuck on the end of it now. When I think about my collection (because it is currently in a moving truck somewhere…) I think the only true trilogy I have is LOTR. But do I count The Hobbit in that, as well? Gah!

This is all to say that I can never pick a favorite of anything book related. They are all my favorites.

I hear you. Even the Newsflesh series has some extra novellas in it (which, to be honest, I love). I personally feel that if the main story happens in three books, it is a trilogy. If there are extra novellas that tell other stories or other sides of the same story, then they are yummy little extras!

  2. I didn’t know this was your favorite trilogy! I’ve seen this book around, but have yet to pick it up. Since it’s completed I might pick it up this year.
Have you read Rot & Ruin? It’s a series and about zombies too.
My favorite trilogy of all time is the Chaos Walking trilogy. I want to read it again, but I don’t want to make myself sad…
